Santa Barbara’s Kayla Day wins pro tennis tournament in Georgia
2016 just keeps getting better for 17-year old tennis player Kayla Day of Santa Barbara.
She won her first women’s pro singles title as she beat Danielle Collins 6-1, 6-3 to capture the 50,000 Pro ITF event in Macon, Georgia.
With the victory Day surges in the rankings to 207th in the world. She ended 2015 ranked 988.
In the summer, Day won the US Open Juniors Tournament and she also won a first round match in the main draw of the US Open.
