A man is lucky to be alive after his SUV flipped over on the 101 Freeway early Monday morning.
According to CHP, the driver was headed north near the Carrillo Boulevard exit in Santa Barbara around 1:20 a.m. when he lost control of his Ford Explorer and flipped over into a ditch. The vehicle was completely upside down when CHP arrived but amazingly, the man was not hurt.
“This should be a reminder to drivers to be extra careful on the roads,” said CHP Officer Michael Griffith. “Especially during Halloween.”
No other vehicles were involved and it is unclear if alcohol or drugs were involved.
