Hundreds perform “Thriller” dance at Santa Barbara Courthouse

Hundreds of zombies rose from the Sunken Gardens at Santa Barbara Courthouse Saturday to perform the “Thriller” dance as part of a global dance event.

“Thrill the World” is a yearly event that aims to celebrate the life and legacy of Michael Jackson and raise funds for charity.

Saturdays event was hosted by World Dance for Humanity, a Santa Barbara organization that aims to support grassroots projects locally and across the globe.

This is the sixth year World Dance for Humanity has hosted the event.

The day began with a free costume party that was open to the public. When the clock struck 3:00 p.m., performers broke out into the iconic dance.

On Sunday, participants will be in full costume and bringing Halloween spirit to the Santa Ynez Valley, making stops in Solvang and Los Olivos.
