Busy Halloween weekend in downtown San Luis Obispo
It will be a busy weekend for San Luis Obispo Police with Halloween falling on a Monday night and with late night, costumed revelers taking to downtown bars and restaurants. But its been a slower start than expected to the Halloween weekend for some restaurants.
“I would expect a lot more to be going on”, said downtown restaurant worker Jason Ismail, “its a Friday night, SLO normally has a big bar population and people are normally out and about and I don’t see really very much happening.”
The San Luis Obispo Police Department will begin enforcing its Safety Enhancement Zone program Sunday night at midnight giving officers greater authority to issue citations and make arrests.
“I’ve been here four and a half years and I haven’t really had a problem with the kids partying, getting in the way”, says San Luis Obispo resident Brad Gustafson.
The Safety Enhancement Zone stretches beyond the downtown area to include residential neighborhoods in San Luis Obispo.
