Make-A-Wish helps Oceano teen go to Disney World

The Tri-Counties Make-A-Wish Foundation is helping a 16-year old Oceano boy go to Walt Disney World in Florida.

Brandon Blair is a Disney fanatic and has great admiration for men and woman in uniform. The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office heard about that and decided to help out. It hosted a pizza party for Brandon and his family at the Sheriff’s South Station in Oceano.

Brandon has a medical condition called Williams Syndrome. It’s a genetic condition that involves one less chromosome which creates several potentially life threatening medical issues.

Sheriff Ian Parkinson gave Brandon a Sheriff’s hat and t-shirt as well. Brandon, his brothers, Bennett and Bradley, his mom Lea and dad Donovan all were given a tour before the surprise lunch.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to acknowledge Klondike’s Pizza in Arroyo Grande and Coca-Cola of Santa Maria for supporting the event.

Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Since 1985, the Tri-Counties Make-A-Wish Foundation has granted the wishes of more than 1,400 local children in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.
