Attempted Burglary Suspect Arrested

A San Luis Obispo man was arrested Tuesday after being caught on a resident’s surveillance camera, attempting to break into the house.

In the video, captured around 2:34am on October 22nd, the suspect was lurking around the front door, checking the door handle and acting in a suspicious manner. The suspect was wearing gloves, a light colored shirt and a baseball cap. At one point the suspect noticed the video surveillance system and wiped away debris from the camera.

The resident notified police after viewing the video and the suspicious activity by the suspect.

Investigators from SLOPD arrested 38 year Michael Dean Sutton of San Luis Obispo. He was booked on charges of Attempted Burglary at the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
