Seaside man killed in Highway 166 motorcycle crash

Authorities have not yet released the name of a man killed over the weekend in a motorcycle crash on Highway 166, but identify the victim as a 31-year-old Seaside, California resident.

The deadly crash occurred just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The California Highway Patrol says the man was driving his 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on Highway 166 near Suey Creek Road at a high rate of speed.

The driver never slowerd down as he made a left onto Suey Creek Road and lost control of his motorcycle, according to the CHP’s collision report. “The driver and the motorcycle then slide on the roadway in a northeasterly direction until they left the roadway and tumbled down the descending dirt embankment,” says the report.

“The driver sustained fatal injuries as he slide on the roadway and tumbled down the embankment,” the report continues.

It’s not known if alcohol or drugs contributed to the deadly crash.
