Injured hiker rescued from Mission Canyon

An elderly hiker was rescued from Mission Canyon early Saturday morning.

Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to Tunnel Trail near Inspiration Point at around 8:30 am.

The 65-year-old woman was stranded after she fell and injured her ankle and was unable to walk.

Crews put the hiker in a Stokes basket and carried her down the trail.

She was taken to Cottage Hospital with minor injuries.
