DEA, Simi Valley police seize $1.2 million in narcotics

Two men were arrested Friday after Simi Valley Police Department’s Narcotics Unit in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Agency seized over 46 pounds of cocaine and two pounds of heroin.

According to Simi Valley Police Department, the total street value for the narcotics is “well over” $1.2 million.

The suspects have been identified as Sergio Vega, 47 and Luis Chavez, 61.

Due to the large amount of drugs seized, the suspects could face charges for federal drug violations. The location of the arrest has been withheld due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

SVPD said the drugs were intended to supply dealers in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties and the drug bust removed over 200,000 doses of illegal drugs off the streets.

Anyone with information regarding the manufacturing or sales of narcotics is asked to contact the Simi Valley Police Department’s Narcotics Tip Line at (805) 583-6210.
