Lompoc Police search for missing man

Lompoc Police are looking for a man who was last seen on October 6th.

47-year-old Daniel Burgess was last seen driving his 2015 Harley Davidson Tricycle in Lompoc. The Alaska-issued license plate reads #PHREAK.

“I love you, I’ll see you in a little while,” Burgess’ girlfriend Lorie Clark said.

Those were the last words Daniel Burgess said to his girlfriend Lorie Clark on the morning of Thursday October 6th.

“He’s a nice guy, he’s probably one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet,” Clark said.

She says her boyfriend works on computers by trade and was meeting up with a man at the Post Office, off of Craigslist, to do some work for him.

“Nothing out of the ordinary, didn’t take anything with him, nothing and now he’s just gone,” Clark said.

The newly engaged couple moved from Alaska to Clark’s hometown of Lompoc in July. Clark says he’s never disappeared before.

“This just isn’t him,” Clark said.

Police say the man Burgess met off of Craigslist has been interviewed and is not a suspect.

“I’m scared, I’m scared and I miss him,” Clark said.

“The detectives are in the process of writing a search warrant to get access to his phone records, his bank records,” Lompoc Police Sgt. Kevin Martin said.

Police describe Burgess as 5’10’ with blond hair and hazel eyes, weighing 245 pounds.

“Through their investigation they’ve established that Mr. Burgess has done this in the past previously from his family members,” Martin said.

He has a tribal fish tattoo on his upper right arm, a tribal dragon on his upper left arm and a pink breast cancer symbol on his left calf.

“I hope he’s ok, I need to know,” Clark said.

Police do not believe Burgess is in danger and are not treating this as a criminal investigation. Police add he goes by the nickname “Phreak.” If you have any information on Daniel Burgess call Lompoc Police at 805-736-2341 or 911.
