Two men stabbed over football argument in Oxnard

Two men suffered stab wounds and were taken to local hospitals after a fight broke out following a football game at Channel Islands High School in Oxnard.

According to a press release from the Oxnard Police Department, officers responded to a report of a fight and a possible shooting victim in the area of Channel Islands Boulevard. and Rose Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two adult men with stab wounds. The two men were transported to local hospitals with mild and moderate injuries.

One of the men suffered injuries that required surgery. He is in stable condition following surgery.

Two male juveniles were detained on scene. One of the juveniles was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and transported to juvenile hall.

Officers said they believe the fight stemmed from an incident at the football game.

Channel Islands High School was briefly placed on lockdown as a precaution.
