San Luis Obispo police searching for suspect in early morning stabbing

San Luis Obispo Police Department is searching for a suspect who stabbed a man multiple times near the Denny’s restaurant on the 200 block of Madonna Road early Saturday morning.

The call came in at around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday.

Initial reports indicated that a 23-year-old man was stabbed multiple times by an unknown assailant. Friends of the victim transported him to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

His injuries were considered serious but not life-threatening and he was released from the hospital the same day.

Officers canvassed the area of the stabbing and collected evidence and interviewed witnesses.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his mid-twenties, between 5’8″ and 5’10” with a medium build. He was seen wearing all black clothing, including a black jacket.

The victim did not know the suspect and investigators do not believe robbery was a motive for the stabbing.

The investigation is ongoing.
