Purse thief caught on security camera in Magnolia Shopping Center nail salon

Four women went into Minh Ly’s Nails on Tuesday and robbed the business. The nail salon is located in the Magnolia Shopping Center on Hollister Avenue near Goleta.

Two security cameras were rolling as the four women came into the shop separately.

One of the women went into a back room with a nail technician for a wax. While the other three distracted the technicians until it was safe for one of them to steal a purse. The purse was inside one of the technician’s work station.

The owner of the salon, Minh Ly, filed a report with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.

Ly watched NewsChannel 3’s report on a robbery which occurred the same day and a couple hours after at Eller’s Donuts on Milpas in Santa Barbara.

Ly noticed the same brazen techniques and women from the robbery that occurred at his business.
