Stolen car may contain evidence to catch burglary suspects

Santa Barbara police are investigating a stolen car out of a Westside neighborhood, and investigators are requesting the public’s help.

The stolen car is described as a 1985 gold BMW 535, with California license plates 2CDB351 with VIN WBADC8406F0666657.

The theft occurred on October 3 at about 2 p.m. Investigators say that the car was stolen by suspects fleeing from a burglary at a nearby home. That crime was interrupted.

The Santa Barbara Police Department says they believe the stolen car may have been abandoned in the Santa Barbara or Goleta areas; likely left parked on a street or in a parking lot. That vehicle is believed to contain evidence that can be used to identify and arrest the suspects.
