Fire near Paso Robles destroys one structure, burns two acres

A structure was destroyed and about two acres of vegetation were burned in a fire that broke out south of Paso Robles Saturday.

At around 11:50 a.m. Cal Fire dispatch received a call about a structure fire near Oakdale Road. Units responded shortly after and discovered a fully engulfed structure fire that had spread and caused a one acre vegetation fire.

Crews managed to stop the forward progress of the fire about an hour after the call was reported.

About two acres were burned and the structure was a complete loss.

16 units from both Cal Fire San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles Fire Department responded to the blaze. Templeton Fire Department assisted with other calls while the two agencies dealt with the fire.

Crews will remain on scene for 2-3 hours to perform mop up.

The cause of the fire is unclear at this time.
