Educators Aware of Creepy Clown Concerns
A creepy clown craze isn’t sitting well with educators or law enforcement.
They said scary clowns are no laughing matter.
In some states clowns have disturbed children and led to arrests.
The Santa Barbara School district issued a robo-call.
Many districts are reminding children if they see something disturbing or suspicious to say something.
Police in Lompoc issued a statement saying they have not confirmed any local sightings.
With Halloween around the corner, police officers and educators worry social media will give copy cats ideas.
Goleta Union superintendent William Banning said creepy clowns are no laughing matter.
“It is sad, it isn’t funny, there have been reports that are not accurate, ” said Banning.
He said children should let adults know if they see scary clowns so their districts can make sure everyone stays safe,
The creepy clown reports began in August when children in South Carolina said clowns tried to get them to follow them into the woods.
