Local energy choice announced by Community Environmental Council

The Community Environmental Council has announced a plan to offer residents and businesses a new program where they can make a choice on the clean energy options.

The “Communty Choice” program was announced at the Green Energy Gala Friday night. The dinner was held at The Lark restaurant in the Funk Zone.

Jefferson Litton, Director of Energy and Climate Programs, told the crowd of over 200, “CEC has been leading advocacy for community choice. We will launch the new locally controlled power provider and be able to choose that all of our electricity can come from clean climate safe sources like wind and solar.”

Speakers, along with video presentations, also explained of the CEC efforts with fossil free programs, reducing plastics in our society, and energy efficient vehicles.
