Police identify Santa Maria bicyclist killed at Inger and Broadway crash

Authorities have identified 57-year-old Santa Maria resident Frank Barrios Jr. as the bicyclist killed in a crash involving a car at the intersection of Inger and Broadway in the city of Santa Maria.

The traffic collision occurred shortly after 4 p.m. on Sept. 20.

First responders found Barrios on the roadway suffering from major injuries. Barrios was taken to Marian Regional Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries.

The driver of the car was not hurt. Police have not made any arrests, but the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
