Tuesday Evening Forecast 9/20/16

Areas of fog early on Wednesday will give way to a partly cloudy afternoon, with areas of smoke and haze continuing to be a problem because of nearby fires. Temperatures will cool quite a bit on Wednesday…with daytime highs topping out in the 70s and 80s in most areas, besides some cooler 60s for the Central Coast beaches. Gusty winds will develop tomorrow afternoon/evening, which will increase the fire weather threat.

Thursday will be a tricky day weather wise thanks to a strong low that will be moving through California and Nevada. The South Coast will see some late afternoon/evening sundowner winds, which means that hot and dry weather can be expected around Santa Barbara on Thursday. Most everyone else will see further cooling trends on Thursday as the cooler north flow around this storm system knocks down temperatures.

Temps rebound for those that cool on Friday, and continue warming for Santa Barbara as high pressure quickly replaces the low. The warm-up will continue through the weekend with daytime highs well above average for the first weekend of fall.
