Special Memorial At West Beach Honors 9/11 Victims

A special event in Santa Barbara marked the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks on Sunday.

Young America’s Foundation and six local schools organized the 9/11: Never Forget Project at West Beach.

This year, students from Westmont College, Santa Barbara City College, UC-Santa Barbara, Dos Pueblos High School, San Marcos High School, and Providence School participated in the event.

Students and volunteers placed 2,977 American flags in the sand, one to represent each person killed in the tragedy.
