Scherpa Fire Burn Area Starting To See Regrowth

The burned landscape around the Scherpa fire is slowly bouncing back.

The fire broke out north of Goleta on the Camino and Cielo ridges in June.

The blaze burned more than 75-hundred acres.

State Parks Superintendent Eric Hjelstrom posted some pictures on Facebook showing the resilience of some old plants and new flowers that sprouted.

Hjelstrom snapped the photos by the road near the Ocean Mesa Campground.
