Ventura Marathon Weekend Begins With Beach Party

Ventura Marathon runners picked up their numbers and souvenirs during a beach party on Saturday by the pier.

Cyclists competed on Saturday, too.

All the athletes enjoyed live entertainment, vendors and food trucks during the weekend event.

Sunday’s race is a Boston Marathon qualifier.

Racers will run from the Ventura Pier to the Port Hueneme Pier and back.

The elite runners begin at 6 a.m.
