Santa Maria resident dies after stabbing attack
The Santa Maria Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred just before 5 p.m. Saturday.
Police say at 4:52 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of West McElhaney Avenue in the City of Santa Maria, where they located a stabbing victim.
The victim, whom police identified as 18-year-old Santa Maria resident Luis Alberto Castaneira, was taken to Marian Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced died.
