Father Larry Witnesses History At The Vatican
People visiting the Old Mission in Santa Barbara were excited to check out Larry Gosselin’s Facebook posts.
At the Catholic Mission, Gosselin is known as Father Larry.
He went on a Pilgrimage to Italy and Vatican City to be in attendance when Mother Teresa became a saint.
Gosselin spent time with Mother Teresa more than two decades ago and gave the final blessing at her grave in 1997. He recently wrote a book about the experience entitled, “I Have Been Waiting For You.” Mother Teresa said those words to Gosselin when they met.
Fr. Larry shared montages of photos on Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/larry.gosselin.359?fref=ts ) but reluctantly said he didn’t pick the music that accompanies them. He seemed to think it was a bit up tempo for the photographs.
He will return to Santa Barbara in a few weeks.
Mission visitors stopped to take photos and said saying Saint Teresa of Kalkata instead of Mother Teresa will take some getting used to.
Debbie Stewart said she hopes the canonization will make people of all faiths more aware of the selfless things Saint Teresa did.
