Aloha Festival Brings Polynesia To Ventura

The 12th annual Aloha Beach Festival in Ventura makes the boardwalk feel a bit like Waikiki, but the surfers are wearing wetsuits.

The event that begins early in the morning with the C Street Longboard Classis surf competition goes all weekend with something for everyone.

After watching surfing visitors can buy souvenirs at a sidewalk fair or watch non- stop Polynesian music and dancing.

The free fun takes place along the boardwalk between the Crown Plaza and the Ventura County Fairgrounds

Festival founder Chipper Bro said proceeds this year will benefit the Matilija Coalition to take down the Matilija Dam north of Ojai.
