Suspect Sought in Child Annoyance Case Out of Goleta Valley

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help to locate a suspect whom they say followed a child and mother home after touching his genitals in public.

The incident occurred Saturday at about 5:30 p.m. in the 5100 block of San Lorenzo Drive, an unincorporated area of Santa Barbara County. Authorities say the mother and her daughter were walking in the area when they saw a man in his 30’s behind them touching his genitals.

When the mother and daughter returned from their walk, they discovered the suspect inside their home. The Sheriff’s Office says the suspect brushed up against the woman’s daughter before being confronted by another man inside the residence.

The suspect fled southbound on San Felipe Drive, but despite extensive search efforts by deputies, a K-9 unit, and air support, authorities were not able to locate and capture the suspect.

The suspect is described as having a dark complexion with multiple acne scars on his face, and average build. He was last seen wearing a grey T-shirt, shorts, neon yellow tennis shoes, a cross-shaped earring, and a gold chain necklace.

The suspect is wanted on charges of child annoyance, criminal trespass, and lewd acts in public.

Anyone with any information on this case, or recognizes the description of the suspect, is urged to call the Santa Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office at 805-683-2724. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may call 805-681-4171.
