At Gunpoint Three Robbery Suspects are Arrested on San Marcos Pass
Three suspects have been arrested at gunpoint on State Highway 154 after allegedly committing multiple felony offenses including an armed robbery. The crimes reportedly occurred in the Santa Ynez Valley. Full details have yet to be released.
A reported victim relayed information to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department about the suspects and their getaway vehicle.
South Coast Commander Kelly Moore says a patrol deputy working on a fire assignment near Paradise road saw the SUV go by, then called for back up units.
The final stop was made at the bottom of San Marcos Pass near Cathedral Oaks. All traffic was stopped until the situation was resolved.
“We try to slow everything down so no one is hurt. That includes the officers, the suspects involved and the public because we don’t know all the circumstances involved. There may be firearms,” said Moore.
NewsChannel Three was on the scene and has exclusive images as the suspects were arrested by deputies with rifles and handguns drawn.
Two women and one man exited the vehicle.
They are believed to have committed an armed robbery, a kidnapping and also possibly extortion.
All three were transported to the Sheriff’s headquarters for questioning and a positive identification check.
