Wrong-way Driver Hits Cars On S101

A Wrong-way driver hit up to four cars on Sunday night.

A driver who called said he called 911 at 8:17 after seeing the car going north, the wrong way, while he exited southbound at Carrillo.

Witnesses said they could see the traffic come to a stand still near Mission St..

California Highway Patrol Sgt. James Richards said it appears the driver of a black Ford Crown Victoria entered the freeway at the Garden exit and continued going the wrong way, hitting up to five cars along the way.

Richard said the driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and could face DUI charges.

He said the people in the cars that were hit were also treated for minor injuries.

CHP dispatchers said they have been busy with crashes all day.
