Firefighter Donation Scam Reported in San Luis Obispo County
CAL FIRE officials say someone is making phone calls asking for donations to the firefighters.
On Thursday CAL FIRE spokesperson Bennet Millory said they have received reports of these types of illegal phone calls asking for money.
He says CAL FIRE would never call community members asking for money. Also fire officials are not currently seeking donations.
CAL FIRE says if you were contacted, please attempt to secure the caller’s name and contact number.
