Great Expectations For UCSB Soccer

Ten years ago UCSB won a National Championship in men’s soccer. No one will be shocked if they make another title run this year.

With superstar Nick Depuy returning for his senior season, UCSB boasts one of College Soccer’s top players. He scored 15 goals as a junior last year and his eight game-winning goals led the nation.

With Ahinga Selemani and Kevin Feucht returning as well, the Gauchos should have plenty of offensive firepower.

Brandon Berke returns as goalkeeper while Randy Mendoza and Jeff Quezada are All-Big West defenders.

The Gauchos were ranked #13 in the preseason NSCAA Poll.

UCSB advanced to the Round of 16 last year and hope this season is even sweeter.

The Gauchos host Westmont College on Saturday at 7pm in their annual exhibition game.
