Surf ‘n Suds Fills Sampler Glasses and Scholarship Funds

The Surf ‘n Suds beer festival Saturday in Carpinteria was a big draw for beer lovers, but it also benefits some local youth groups.

A portion of the proceeds is helping The California Avocado Festival Scholarship fund, The Boys and Girls Club, and the Junior Warrior Football program.

The event Saturday was located on Linden Field adjacent to the State Campground and the City of Carpinteria beach.

Those attended were able to chose from 65 brewers and over 100 different beers and ciders.

The event also had games, live music and food.

A special price for designated drivers was set up along with transportation programs to help reduce drinking driving issues.

Local surfboard makers were also on display showing off their latest works and talking about regional surfing issues.
