Driver Injured in Goleta Eucalyptus Grove Car Crash

A 35-year-old man involved in a crash on Cathedral Oaks Friday morning suffered minor injuries and taken to the hospital after losing control of his car.

The crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. a mile east of the Glen Annie intersection.

The 35-year-old was driving on Cathedral Oaks when he lost control and drive through a field, into a eucalyptus grove before striking a tree, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Capt. Dave Zaniboni.

Santa Barbara County firefighters, along with AMR, California Highway Patrol and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters cut part of the tree to extricate the 35-year-old driver from the car.

There were no other cars involved in the crash and no other injuries were reported. The driver was the only occupant of the car at the time of the crash.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the collision.
