Santa Barbara Police Chief to Discuss Safety and Vitality with Eastside Community

Santa Barbara Police Department’s newest police chief will meet with the Eastside community this Wednesday.

The Milpas Community Association invited Police Chief Lori Luhnow to La Casa De La Raza to talk about how they can make the Eastside a safer and healthier place to live.

Sergeant Riley Harwood says Chief Luhnow is excited to meet people and get to know the residents in our community.

The meet and greet will happen Wednesday, August 10, between 5:30-7:30 p.m. at La Casa De La Raza on 601 E. Montecito Street.

“It’s important for the Latino community to have faith in who the chief of police is and understand that this person is very capable, very understanding and has a lot of experience and not to be afraid of the community,” said Bea Molina, president of Milpas Community Association.
