Special Fiesta Song, and Dancing Open Old Spanish Day Mercados in Santa Barbara

The Old Spanish Days mercado locations opened with food, entertainment, a ribbon cutting and special song.

At the downtown De La Guerra Plaza mercado Mayor Helene Schneider cut the ribbon while she was flanked by Old Spanish Days dignitaries, the Fiesta “Spirits” and members of the city council.

Afterwards singer and former Santa Barbara Police Sergeant Dave Gonzales sang an upbeat “Viva La Fiesta!” song composed by local musician Peter Clark.

Within moments the food booths were bustling and the plaza was filled with people.

Each booth in the two mercado locations will raise money for a non profit organizations in town.
