Swift Boat Visits Local Ports

One of the last remaining seaworthy Swift Boats is visiting local ports with former crew members on board.

The Patrol Craft Fast as they were known carried six crew members through the waterways of Vietnam.

Crews members visiting the restored Swift Boat didn’t crew together but they carry on like they did.

The sailors, including Dave Hansen, Richard O’Mara and Bill Bolger, will gladly share their stories and photos from their tours of duty.

They spend several days in the Santa Barbara Harbor and will heading to the Maritime Museum dock in Oxnard’s Channel Islands Harbor on Tuesday morning and then on Friday they will head to the Ventura Harbor for a weekend visit.

The veterans have raved about their receptions in California ports.

The Swift Boats home base is the San Diego Maritime Museum.
