Deadly Crash Shuts Down Kimball Road and Highway 126 Off Ramp in Ventura

Police have closed down Kimball Road between Thille and Colton Street in Ventura following a traffic collision Friday afternoon.

Information is limited but it appears at least one person is dead, according to the California Highway Patrol incident website.

The crash was reported just after 2:30 p.m. in the area of S. Kimball Road and Blackburn Road.

The westbound Highway 126 off ramp at Kimball Road is also closed according to Ventura police.

Traffic is slow in the area, and motorists are advised to use alternate routes. It’s not clear when the road closures will be lifted but Ventura police say they expect Kimball Road to be closed for several hours.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
