SLO County Murder Suspect Dies at Hospital After Suffering Terminal Illness

Nicole Honait Luxor, the 62-year-old suspect in the murder of Benjamin Derrel Terra in November 2015, has died.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that Luxor died on July 16 at Sierra Vista Medical Center after battling an unknown terminal illness.

Luxor had barricaded herself in the home were police discovered Terra’s body, and a 9-hour standoff ensued, after which she was arrested but not before police say she fired several shots at sheriff’s deputies. Fortunately, no law enforcement officials were hurt.

Since being taken into custody, Luxor had significant medical issues and was admitted to the hospital on four different occasions for a total of 81 days, said Tony Cipolla with the SLO County Sheriff’s Office.
