Paso Robles Man Faces Additional Child Molestation Charges Following Home Search

After 44-year-old Paso Robles resident Jason Robert Porter was first arrested in June 2016 for lewd acts with a child, Paso Robles police detectives served a search warrant at Porter’s home and discovered several pieces of evidence that led to Porter now facing additional charges related to child molestation.

Detectives located and seized several computers, numerous digital information storage devices and multiple cameras. The following is taken directly from a Monday Paso Robles Police Department press release:

“With the assistance of personnel from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Crime Lab, the seized computers and storage devices were searched and thousands of digital images and videos of suspected child pornography were discovered. Some of the images and videos appeared to have been manufactured by Porter, and detectives discovered images of Porter in the act of sexually molesting at least nine different juvenile girls.”

An arrest warrant was issued on July 15. Investigators say Porter was located in the 1100 block of El Centro Street in the City of South Pasadena and taken into custody without incident. Porter was booked into the SLO County Jail on the following charges:

Lewd acts upon a child. (7 counts)
Sexual acts with a child under 10 years of age (5 counts)
Sexual exploitation of a child (1 count)
Possession of child pornography (1 count)
Disorderly conduct-secretly record victim (9 counts)

Porter’s bail is set at $7,000,000.

This is an ongoing investigation. Detectives are encouraging anyone with information regarding additional victims to contact the Paso Robles Police Department at 805-237-6464.
