Broadcast Engineer

NPG of California has an immediate opening for an experienced Broadcast Engineer to provide technical support to the operation of KEYT-TV, KCOY-TV, KKFX-TV.

This position would maintain and assist with the installation and maintenance of all broadcast equipment and broadcast systems. Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, the position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing the station’s automation systems, broadcast servers, HD/SD video encoders, HD/SD video multiplexers, video and audio processing frames/cards, NPG’s MediaFlow, and all other digital video processors/servers.

Other duties include; maintaining various other systems and equipment. As well as, maintain an efficient and friendly help desk (Cherwell) to all departments. And to provide technical support and assistance towards News and Sales initiatives designed to increase ratings and revenue.

Candidates should possess a HS diploma, as least two-years of broadcast, cable, RF or IT environment experience, and have good troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Degree in computer and/or electrical engineering, as well as certificates in A+, ACMT, CTO, CBT, CBTE, or CBNE preferred but not required.

The ability to work constructively under pressure and handle numerous time sensitive issues on a daily basis is imperative for success. Position requires scheduling flexibility in working nights, weekends, some holidays, and on call if needed. Candidates must be able to lift 100 lbs, stoop, crouch, or climb at least 40 feet. May occasionally work in outside weather conditions.

Overnight trips within the market are occasionally required.
