Search for Pearl Pinson Continues Through Memorial Day Weekend

SUNDAY UPDATE

As of Sunday morning, Pearl Pinson has yet to be found. Authorities wrapped up their search efforts in the Willow Creek area of Sonoma County at about 3 p.m. Saturday, but came up empty handed.

The Solano County Sheriff’s Department released the following:

Thank you for your continued patience with updates on our investigation and search efforts to find missing teen Pearl Pinson.

Search efforts in the Jenner area concluded around 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon. Nothing was found during the search that would indicate Pearl is there. Investigators continue to follow-up on leads and any future search will depend on where those leads take us.

Anyone with information on Pearl’s whereabouts is urged to call 707-784-1963. If they see Pearl, they are encouraged to call their local law enforcement or 911.

SATURDAY UPDATE

The search for missing teen Pearl Pinson continue well into the Memorial Day Weekend.

Authorities are now concentrating their efforts in the Willow Creek Road area near Jenner in Sonoma County based on recent evidence.

The Solano County Sheriff’s Department posted the following on their Facebook page:

As of 10 a.m. this morning the search area is approximately 25 square miles in the Willow Creek area with 65+ law enforcement and Search and Rescue personnel are on the ground and water searching for Pearl. Those include members from Sonoma SO, Solano SO,Solano OES, Mendecino SO, Marin SO, and CA State Parks.

The Vallejo teen was kidnapped on May 25 by 19-year-old Fernando Castro who was shot and killed during a shootout with Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies the following day in the 100 block of Val Verde in Solvang following a lengthy pursuit.

Pearl was not with the suspect at the time the police chase in SLO and Santa Barbara counties began.

Family members, including Pearl’s sister, Rose Pinson, have said Pearl and the suspect were acquaintances but that the family had never met Castro. Pearl’s family has been very cooperative with authorities, said Solano County Sheriff’s officials.
