Emergency Crews Keep Truck Fire at Bay Near Lompoc

Santa Barbara County firefighters were dispatched to a car fire on Santa Rosa Road, approximately one mile from Highway 1 just south of Lompoc, just before 9 a.m. Saturday.

A truck carrying vegetables caught on fire for unknown reasons. When firefighters arrived on scene they found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames with a propane tank that had caught fire, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Capt. Dave Zaniboni.

The driver of the truck was able to get out. It’s unknown if the driver was inside the truck at the time of the fire, but no injuries were reported in the incident.

Firefighters remained on scene to ensure flames from the truck did not spread into the nearby vegetation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
