Be Kind To Animal Week

On the first Sunday in May the Santa Barbara Humane Society hosts an open house to kick off Be Kind To Animal Week.

Two-legged visitors were welcome to bring their four-legged friends.

The open house had demonstrations, including pet training.

They also had activities for children, such as a magic show and face painting.

Pet lovers had a chance to meet adoptable dogs and cats on the 5-acre property.

Event coordinator, Rebecca Tivan, said”The Santa Barbara Humane Society is here as a resource for the pubic, for education, for adoption, for boarding, for vaccinations. We also have our spay and neuter clinic. We are happy to be here as sort of hub in the community.”

The open house also offered low cost $5 vaccines.

Although the event was free, some visitors made donations.
