Ojai Student Arrested After Making Criminal Threats

Deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 14-year-old teen in connection with a criminal threat investigation out of Ojai Thursday afternoon.

Deputies responded to a call of threats made at Matilija Junior High School located at 703 El Paseo Road just before 2 p.m. Authorities say the teenage student allegedly threatened to harm individuals at his school.

Deputies located and arrested the student without incident. They also conducted a search of the teen’s home but did not find any firearms or other weapons related to the incident.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident but believe there is no safety issue at the school.

The teen was booked at the Juvenile Justice Center and charged with making criminal threats.
