NewsChannel 3 Fun Bus Enjoys ‘Live With Kelly and Michael After Oscar Show’

The Oscars may be over, but the action isn’t. As soon as the Academy Awards ended, NewsChannel 3’s Joe Buttittta and Kelsey Gerckens headed to Hollywood with 30 KEYT contest winners on the KEYT fun bus.

The group attended the live airing of Kelly and Michael’s “After Oscar Show” at the Dolby Theater. the same theater Hollywood’s stars received their statues in the night before.

The “Live with Kelly and Michael” special started off with a performance by Andy Grammer and the dancers from “Dancing With the Stars.”

The Oscar-themed show featured some of the brightest stars of Hollywood’s biggest night, including this years best actress winner, Brie Larson for her performance in “Room.”

The Dolby Theater was packed for the special show, and our KEYT viewers got some of the best seats.

“This is amazing. All of the lights and the glitter and all the people. I just never thought that I would get here,” said Nancy Shaw, of Vandenberg.

“I am sitting in Leonardo DiCaprio’s seat, and he got best actor for his film, and it was amazing! If you haven’t seen it, you need to go,” said Debbie Hargreaes, of Vandenberg.

NewsChannel 3 interviewed Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahen after the show. They told our reporter they did the show with little to no sleep after a night of working at the Oscars and attending after parties.

“We were halfway through the show when we realized we were live,” said Ripa.

“I should listen to you and not have slept. I did a rookie move, and I am paying for it. I am more tired than you by sleeping for two hours. It is painful, I am telling you,” said Strahen.

NewsChannel 3 viewers loved interacting with the daytime show hosts.

“I love Kelly and Mike; they are so sweet, they are funny and they make you feel right at home,” said Elaine Palazuelos, of Oxnard.
