Dog Rescued From Cliff By Santa Barbara City Fire Fighters

A dog rescue below Santa Barbara’s Douglas Preserve happened Wednesday afternoon between the beach and the cliffs involving what appears to be a black lab.

But unlike most dog rescues here this particular pooch went up the cliff, not down.

KEYT viewer Alan Scholl was walking on the beach at the time and sent us these pictures — after the dog quickly become stuck.

Officials said a retired Los Angeles City firefighter climbed up the cliff to help coax the dog down.

Firefighters were called out and eventually, helped the dog back on his feet. From there, the pup made it down on his own.

Unfortunately, his owner was nowhere to be found so animal control took him away. No word yet if they have been reunited.
