Police Looking for Witness in Wrong-Way Fatal Collision in Paso Robles

Authorities are looking for the man pictured above as a valuable witnesses in a wrong-way traffic collision in Paso Robles.

The collision occurred at about 3 a.m. on December 15 along U.S. 101 in Paso Robles. 22-year-old Lauren Alderete was charged with causing a head-on collision resulting in the death of Lindsey Matzie, 26, of Los Osos. Investigators say that Alderete was drunk at the time of the collision.

The California Highway Patrol released surveillance photos of a man they say spent a portion of the evening of December 15 with Alderete. The photos were taken at the Taco Bell located on Santa Rosa Street in San Luis Obispo about an hour before the deadly collision.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help to identify the man pictured in the surveillance photos, who police say may be provide valuable information regarding the events that led up to the Paso Robles collision.
