Dog Survives Ellwood Cliff Fall

An Australian Shepard was reunited with his owner after falling over a 60-foot cliff on the Ellwood Bluffs, Tuesday.

The dog fell while on a run with his owner just before 5 p.m. on the Goleta cliffs.

Santa Barbara County Fire crews responded and found the dog halfway down the cliff at approximately 30-feet. They set up a rope system and lowered a firefighter to the rescue.

The dog was placed in a harness then he and the firefighter were lowered to the beach.

He was uninjured and happily reunited with his owner.
