SLO Jury Convicts Man of Elder Abuse in Convencience Store Assault

On Thursday, a San Luis Obispo jury convicted 24-year-old Jacob Paul Walton of robbery and misdemeanor elder abuse in a February Pismo Beach convenience store assault.

On February 22, Walton attacked a 66-year-old AM/PM clerk with a metal bar outside the convenience store after he was asked to leave for not having money to pay for the items he had selected.

Walton’s accomplice used the victim’s patka, which Walton forcefully took off, to cover the real license plate of their car before leaving the crime scene.

Sentencing for Walton is set for September 14. He remains on bail pending sentencing.
