Santa Barbara High School Madrigal Choir Going To Europe

The Santa Barbara High School Madrigal Choir is heading to Europe this summer, and the students are paying their own way.

35 Students were invited to sing in Italy at several cathedrals. So far, they’ve raised more than $100,000 by singing at private parties, Farmer’s Markets, and through bake sales. They have also started a ‘GoFundMe’ fundraising effort.

However, the choir is still about $79,000 short of their goal.

The group has organized a fundraiser at the Santa Barbara Carriage Museum on March 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance or at the door. For more information contact Gloria Cavallero at 805-687-9957.

The Madrigals will entertain with a preview of their spring concert and Italian tour program. The evening will include a live auction featuring a one week stay in Tuscany, Italy and a luxury sunset cruise with gourmet food and drinks.

KCOY’s Paula Lopez will emcee the event.
