Santa Maria Man Dies After Hitting Bulldozer
A Santa Maria man is dead after crashing his 2002 Toyota Camry head-on into a parked Caterpillar Dozer according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident happened on a private dirt road on Blosser Road south of Canal Street.
CHP said 40-year-old Paulino Vasquez Lopez had been driving southbound on the dirt road when, for unknown reasons, crashed into the large bulldozer.
It’s believed the accident happened sometime overnight and was discovered Saturday just before 7 a.m.
Lopez was discovered in the driver seat with his seat-belt on. The car lodged under the rear of the parked bulldozer. He was the only occupant of the car.
The collision is under investigation.
